Really. What is DanFugate.com? Who is Dan Fugate? Do I care?

My name is Dan Fugate. I write copy, blog, do graphic design, and occasionally make a fool of myself at a downtown Pensacola, FL advertising agency.

One of the coolest things about being a copy writer is having multiple outlets, allowing nearly endless available topics. I get to write (and do other creative stuff), for other people, for money. Those pieces are proofed, critiqued, and modified. Before anyone outside my office sees them they’ve been cleaned.

This blog is where you get my brain, straight from the tap. I don’t have folks proofread my stuff and I don’t generally discuss a topic before I write about it. The personal, opinion based, one-sided, pointless, and dirty call this their domain.

I write, play guitar and piano and spend as much time with my friends and family as possible. I love to hunt, fish and golf but I don’t get nearly as many opportunities to do any of those things as I’d like. I spend my days playing with my sons, writing and scouring the internet for interesting little tidbits to share with my friends.

I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Within a few years my parents settled in Livingston, Alabama, where I grew up. Livingston is a small town of about 3, 500 people. Everyone knew everyone and they all knew each other’s business. I graduated from Sumter Academy in 1994. My time there was filled with a mixture of ridicule and remorse. God bless the child that makes it through private school without a few scars to show for the battle.

In 2003 I moved to Pensacola, Florida where I currently live, with my wife and sons. I graduated from the University of West Alabama with a bachelor of business administration and from the University of West Florida with a master’s in strategic leadership and communication.
